Laparoscopy is the most common procedure used to diagnose and remove mild to moderate endometriosis. If the surgeon needs better access, he or she makes one or two more small incisions for inserting other surgical instruments.Laparoscopy can be less stressful and may have less problems and lower costs than laparotomy for minor surgeries. It can often be done without needing to stay overnight in the hospital.
